A Taste of Miami
My Favorite Places to Eat in Miami!
There are so many places I love to eat in Miami! I mean this city really has it all and with the overwhelming amount of restaurants it's so hard to pick my favorites, but these are my absolute musts when I'm home. ¡Buen provecho!
Lung Yai Thai Tapas

Where do I begin? The best Thai in Miami. Really, I could stop right there. Lung Yai Thai Tapas brings a taste of Southeast Asia to Miami’s notorious Cuban neighborhood, Little Havana. The definition of a hidden gem, the restaurant is small and intimate. Inside seating is basically a chef’s table at their bar, which faces the open kitchen so you can watch all of the magic happen. There’s also an adorable outdoor café if you want a little more privacy.
I love that it’s tapas style so you can shamelessly try a little bit of everything. Everything I’ve ever ordered here is delicious, full of flavor, authentic and fresh, but my absolute favorite is the crispy duck salad; an intoxicating juxtaposition of spicy, salty and acidic with rich fatty pieces of duck. Is your mouth watering yet?
Cvi.Che 105

Peruvian cuisine is experiencing a culinary boom and it’s definitely making its mark in the Miami restaurant scene. If you’re jumping on that Peruvian foodie train be sure to make a stop at Cvi.Che 105. Located in Downtown Miami this restaurant is hip and chic with great cocktails and a high-end touch.
Peruse through the menu and you’ll find all of the Peruvian classics like Aji de Gallina, Lomo Saltado, and Tacu Tacu. But all you really need here is a platter of their four most popular ceviches and a couple of pisco sours. Done and done.
Whole Foods Market

It’s Disney World, except it’s a grocery store. Actually, it’s so much more than a grocery store. Yes, you will find the highest quality groceries and prepared foods here along with the largest selection of organic goodies, but that’s not why I’m in love with Whole Foods.
What made me a loyal customer? Two words: higher purpose. Their conscious business model aims to eliminate global poverty, provide access to fresh produce in food deserts, educate customers and team members about healthy eating, and directly support local nonprofits. And not to mention Whole Foods was serving up natural and organic before natural and organic was cool and trendy, when it was simply the right thing to do. Yes, perhaps it can be a little pricier than your average conventional grocery store, but money is power and I choose to use my power to make purchases that I know will help my local and global community. Plus, the food is incredibely yummy and healthy!
Sergio’s Restaurant

I can’t have a list of favorite Miami restaurants without including my go-to Cuban spot. In the Cuban eats capital of America it’s hard to pick one, but Sergio’s is where you’ll find me when I want a taste of home. Perhaps it’s the nostalgia. My family and I have been dining at Sergio’s since I can remember and with 6 locations in Miami the food has always remained consistent and the price just right.
I love coming here for breakfast and waking up to the Sergio’s Country Breakfast; two eggs, ham, bacon or chorizo, Cuban toast and coffee. For less than $7 you won’t need to eat for the rest of the day. And with their newly added La Flaca menu you can indulge in your Cuban favorites without the guilt. It’s always a win-win here!
Bombay Darbar

For traditional Indian cuisine that always gets it right head on over to Bombay Darbar, the best Indian food in Miami according to basically everyone. They recently expanded their Coconut Grove location to accommodate the hordes of hungry locals and tourists. This place is huge and it’s always packed so you know they’re doing something right.
And that something is the food. I know I don’t even have to say that everything here is consistently delicious, but I will. Garlic Naan is a must and pair it with the Saag Paneer for the happiest combination of flavors in your mouth. I also need to mention the service is exceptionally quick and friendly for as busy as they are. It’s 5-stars all around!
The Local

I’ll end this with my favorite restaurant in Miami. Chef Phil Bryant from The Local is whipping up home-style southern cooking with a contemporary twist. It’s simple, yet complex. Think comfort food, but elevated in a quaint setting that feels like your local neighborhood pub. Let’s just say you won’t feel like you’re dining in the heart of Coral Gables.
With locally sourced and seasonal ingredients, this is not your average bar food. My favorite thing on their one page menu is the burger; brisket blend double cheeseburger with crispy bacon bits, b&b pickles and Mississippi comeback sauce. No other burger will ever compare to this gloriously juicy, uncomplicated perfection. The beer menu is unmatched with a wide selection of quality local brews and limited edition beers on tap. The perfect burger with the perfectly paired beer makes me one perfectly happy gal!
