The Biltmore Hotel is a national historic Miami landmark. It’s old Miami glamour at its finest. With classic Mediterranean architecture, hand-painted frescos, immaculate travertine floors and majestic gardens you’re not sure if you’re in a hotel or a Spanish castle. It’s dreamlike.

Sunday Brunch takes place in The Fontana restaurant. Make sure to reserve a seat in the courtyard. Its center three-tiered fountain and perfectly placed shaded palm trees set the scene for an extraordinary culinary journey. Take a sit, order a mimosa and sway to rhythm of live jazz. There’s no rush. Really, the food is not going anywhere. This is a time to indulge and savor every sip, every musical note, every sunny second.

Bottomless, unlimited, AYCD, whatever you want to call it, your glass will always be filled with some of best champagne around. There are servers specifically dedicated to this task. Their sole responsibility is to make sure your flute is never empty. We sat there for about an hour, taking it all in, before getting up.

If you don’t already know, this is buffet style, but remove any preconceived notions of the word buffet. It’s high-end and it’s sumptuous. There are rooms and rows of food stations consisting of a Breakfast Station, Carving Station, Salad and Tapas Station, Charcuterie and Cheese Station, Sushi Station, Seafood, Caviar and Raw Bar, Pasta Station and of course Dessert Station.

First stop, seafood station as you’ll want to start with the lightest. Nibble on some sushi, caviar, oysters, smoked salmon and shellfish. It’s the perfect way to open up that appetite. Next stop, Create Your Own Pasta Station. I created a gnocchi pink sauce concoction. It was richly decadent, garlicky and absolute pasta perfection. This was my favorite! I’m not a huge meat eater so I didn’t make my way to the Carving Station, but I know they have leg of lamb. And honestly, I wasn’t taking up any space in my tummy with salads, although they did have an extensive selection that I’m sure are fresh and delicious.

For the main entrée, eggs. Choose from Chef Prepared Eggs, Omelets to Order and/or my favorite, Eggs Benedict made with black truffle hollandaise. Really, there’s nothing better in this world than the combination of egg and truffle. To compliment the savory, stack up those freshly pressed waffles and make sure to top them with wild berry compote and homemade whipped cream. This is what brunch dreams are made of.

Last, but not least, dessert. My heart skipped a beat when I walked into this room. I was a kid in a candy store, except I was a grown-ass woman in a room with a wall of desserts, even better! Apple pie, pecan pie, carrot cake, lemon meringue tart, chocolate fondant cake, crème brulee, flan, vanilla cream puff, an assortment of cheesecakes, bread pudding served with anglaise sauce, crepe station, ice cream, cupcakes, the list goes on and on and on.

And if things couldn’t get sweeter, there’s a chocolate fountain accompanied with fresh strawberries, homemade marshmallows, cookies, brownies, macaroons, again, you get the jist. It’s the perfect ending to the perfect meal.

Sunday Champagne Brunch at the Biltmore Hotel takes place every Sunday, although you’ll want to come for a special occasion. It’s $90 pp plus tax & gratuity, $45 for children. Hours are 10am-4pm with last seating at 2pm, but make a rezo. This is a must when in Miami! When it comes to brunch, there is none better. Like I said, you have to taste it to believe it.
