An Invitation to Transform
Dear reader,
An invitation to transform does not come in a pretty package. It is not delivered in a pastel colored envelope with beautifully hand-scripted font. It doesn’t close with:
“Love,
Transformation.”
There is no glitter or glamour.
An invitation to transform isn’t pretty. It isn’t really ugly either. It may seem ugly. It may seem like the ugliest, most painful invitation that you ever did receive.
You may receive your invitation when you’ve hit your own personal rock bottom. You may receive your invitation while crying on your bedroom floor like somebody died (but nobody died). You may receive your invitation when you finally have everything you ever dreamed of; the house, the marriage, the kids, the career, but the void and pain are still there.
An invitation to transform is mailed out at the exact moment your soul asked for it. You may not have requested it, but your soul did. She knows better.
But an invitation to transform isn’t ugly per say. It’s a matter-of-fact, straight to the point, no fluff invitation:
Do you want to transform? Check one.
Yes
No
That’s it. That’s the whole invitation. There are no other options. There is no right or wrong answer. It’s a neutral decision. There is, however, a little disclaimer:
Are you sure? Check one.
Yes
No
It wants to make sure you’re sure. An invitation to transform isn’t typically followed with a “Hell Yea! Let’s transform!” It’s followed with a “F%&**%#&KKKKK.” You know it’s the right thing, the wise thing, but you’re so cozy exactly where you’re at. Miserable, but cozy.
But there comes a time when cozy doesn't cut it anymore.
You know there’s more to life than what you see. You know you’re a spiritual being having a human experience. You just know, deep down in your gut, that you are so much more than this physical body.
When you answer yes to an invitation to transform, you, well, transform. When you say no, you stay cozy. And when you say yes to that first invitation, they keep coming. The more you answer yes, the more frequent they come. The yes’s are really hard at first, but they get easier with every yes.
The option to say no is always there though. An invitation to transform respects our free-will. There’s no peer pressure, no outside sources telling you what you should answer. It’s the most personal decision you will ever make.
And remember:
There is no right or wrong answer.
But do you want to transform? Do you want to be overflowing with peace, compassion, patience and unconditional love regardless of whatever the hell is going on out here? Do you want the kind of faith that lets you truly surrender and trust Life. Like, really trust Her.
No more forcing. More flowing. No more doing. More being.
Do you want to JUST RELAX, JUST BREATH, JUST BE?
We get there when we say yes. We get there with a big ol’ “F%&**%#&KKKKK.” Maybe with a little resistance and hesitation. Probably with a s*%t ton of fear. A little kicking and screaming along the way. But we get there, eventually.
With every invitation. With every yes. With every “F%&**%#&KKKKK.”
